How do I manage the tasks and responsibilities of a staff member who is leaving?

Background

Tasks and responsibilities are assigned to a user position.  If a user is leaving, the tasks and responsibilities assigned to their user position will need to be managed by others or items will become overdue.


Answer:

  1. Option 1 - Assign the user's position to the new user.
    If you have a new user who will be taking over the role of the staff member leaving, simply reassign the original user's position to the new user's account. They will inherit all the tasks and responsibilities.  Note: As training and licensing tasks relate to the individual, the will be automatically closed when you de-activate their account.
  2. Option 2 - Reassign the tasks and responsibilities to other users.
    If there is no new user taking over the role, you can reassign tasks and responsibilities to others using the Reassign or Bulk edit features.
