Quick close allows you to close multiple incidents in a single action.

Who has the ability to quick close incidents?

The quick close feature is available for users with an Approval licence.  Access to this feature is managed via Permissions which can be assigned via Roles or assigned individually via the user account.  The required permission is Quick close which is one of the Approve/Own/Close permissions.

Access to this permission is managed by a System Administrator.


Viewing permissions

When selecting items to close, the viewing permissions come into effect. You will only be able to see the items that you have the permission to view. This is controlled through the Access Control settings in the register item.

However, there is one exception to this rule. If a user has been granted the Super Admin permission to View all items, they will have the ability to see all items in the system regardless of the Access Control settings.  Learn more


Use case example

The Ajax Community Health organisation has a very strong reporting culture and many minor incidents  have been reported for noting only. The manager with authority to close incidents  has limited time and needs a quick way to close many incidents in a single action without having to open each one.  


How to quick close incidents

  1. Navigate to the Incident register.
  2. Select the incidents to close by ticking the check boxes beside the items. The checkbox at the top of the column will select all items on the page. You can also change the number of items displayed per page by using the selector at the bottom of the page.  



  3. Once you select an item, the red Close button will appear. Click on this button to enable the editing panel.
  4. Enter a comment describing why the items are being closed. A comment is mandatory and will appear in the item's Action history, System Event History and the  Additional comments field in the Close form

  5. Click Close to close the selected incidents.

When quick closing an incident:

  • Any open tasks relating to the incident will be terminated
  • The incident will be moved to the Closed tab
  • The original reporter of the incident will be notified by email that item has been closed.
