Track AI usage and credits

Learn how Logiqc AI credits work, how they're allocated, and how to track usage from Admin mode.

AI features are included as a complimentary, plan-based allowance that renews monthly, and you can top up with paid credits any time.

This article covers how credits work, where to check your balance, and how to buy more when needed.

Logiqc AI runs on credits rather than a flat subscription add-on. We use the term "credits" rather than "tokens" (the term you may see AI providers use generally) to describe your usage in Logiqc. Some AI requests use more credits than others, depending on the AI model and the work being performed.

Complimentary credits

Included with your plan. The amount is plan-based rather than a fixed number. They're allocated at the start of each month, are used before paid credits, and reset on the 1st.

Paid credits

Purchased on top of your plan allowance. They roll over month to month if you do not use them all, and are only drawn on once your complimentary credits for the month are used up.

Q: Which credits get used first?

A: Complimentary credits are used before paid credits.

Q: Do paid credits expire at the end of the month?

A: No. Paid credits roll over month to month if you do not use them all. Complimentary credits reset on the 1st of each month and do not roll over.

Q: If we're mid-request when we hit the limit, does it get cut off?

A: No. A request already in progress when your organisation reaches 100% usage finishes normally. The limit applies to the next request.

Q: Does turning AI off reset credits?

A: No. Turning AI off controls feature availability, separately from credits. It doesn't consume or reset your credit balance. See Administrator controls in About Logiqc AI.

Step 1: Open AI Usage in Admin mode

Open your account menu and select Admin mode, then navigate to AI Usage:

AI Usage sits in the left-hand Admin mode navigation, alongside Logiqc Store and the other administration sections.

Step 2: Review usage and credit balance

The credit summary shows your total credits used this month, split into Included used (complimentary credits) and Purchased used (paid credits). Below it, the usage meter fills green as your organisation uses its allowance and turns yellow as you approach the limit. A line on the meter marks where your included usage ends and paid usage begins. If your organisation hasn't purchased any paid credits, there's no line, since there's no paid quota to mark.

A banner also appears above the credit summary when your organisation has no credits remaining, separately from the meter itself.

Use the filters to review a cumulative graph of credits burned over a selected period.

Filters (7, 30, or 90 days) let you review credit usage over a selected period.

Logiqc also shows credit alerts as your organisation approaches its limit. At 80% credit usage, a yellow warning explains that credits are nearly exhausted. At 100%, a red exhausted-credit message appears and AI use is blocked until credits reset or more credits are added. These alerts appear wherever you start an AI action: when selecting Fill in this form using AI on the Incident Details form, and on this AI Usage page in Admin mode.

Note: A breakdown of usage per user and per feature is planned for a future release and is not part of this initial rollout.

Step 3: Buy more credits, if you need to

If you have the required purchasing permissions, select Buy more credits to go to the Logiqc Store. From there, open the Service tab and filter for Logiqc AI items to place a one-off credit purchase. Use the Subscription summary tab in the same Store area if you want to view your plan and billing details rather than buy credits.

Troubleshooting

"AI is blocked because credits are exhausted"

  • Check when complimentary credits reset: this happens on the 1st of each month.
  • If you have purchasing permissions, use Buy more credits to place a one-off purchase from the Service tab.
  • If you do not have purchasing permissions, contact an admin or another authorised user.

What happens next

Credits are tracked as AI is used

Each AI request draws from the organisation's available credit allowance, complimentary first, then paid. An AI request is counted each time you take an AI action, such as one selection of Fill in this form using AI. Each separate action counts as its own request.

Warnings appear as limits approach

Users see a yellow warning at 80% usage and a red exhausted message at 100%, with purchase guidance if they have permission.

AI becomes available again after reset or top-up

AI use can continue when complimentary credits reset on the 1st of the month or more credits are added.
