It enables organisations to effectively manage the lifecycle of their physical, financial, human, and intangible assets to maximise value and achieve strategic objectives by balancing asset performance, risk, and cost. The 2024 version is an update to the previous standard, bringing it in line with the Harmonized Structure and clarifying the role of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP).
